Papyrus (46) - Gift wrap assortment
PAPYRUS giftwrap paper
Be gifted like a pharaoh!
Step into a time machine, as we’re going to an era 2,000 years before the birth of Christ. Pharaohs rule the land which we know today as Egypt. Crops are sown after each time the Nile floods. Craftsmen and builders create objects and buildings which we still admire to this day: the unbelievable pyramids in the middle of the desert, for example, or the wonderfully designed papyrus.
This “paper” was made from a type of rush grass which grows by the Nile and is considered the forerunner of our today's paper. When you look at it more closely, you can still see the structure. The characters on it, known as hieroglyphics, were only first deciphered around 200 years ago.
If you look even more closely, you can also find the gift hidden behind these messages from another time. Unlike when opening up a burial chamber, there’s no need to worry about the revenge of the pharaohs. The eye of Horus, which appears repeatedly in amongst hieroglyphics, is an ancient Egyptian symbol providing protection and good luck.
- Our PAPYRUS wrapping paper is perfect for wrapping both small and large presents, even in the modern day. The papyrus structure also makes it suitable for wrapping books and other pleasant surprises.
- PAPYRUS, a motif that will inspire a love for Egyptology in boys and girls from age 9 to 99, works as “one 4 all” wrapping paper for all times of year, as well as all events and occasions.
